Alette Smeulers is a very experienced and passionate teacher and lecturer. She has been teaching in academia since 1995, given numerous guest lectures and has presented many key-notes and papers at national and international conferences. She has been teaching and given lectures for a variety of audiences. Alette Smeulers has been involved in teaching both law and criminology students on the bachelor, master and post-graduate level at the universities of Maastricht, Tilburg and VU University. At the VU she initiated the worldwide unique master program on International Crimes and Criminology. This program and her classes and lectures are always very well evaluated. She has given guest lectures in Berlin, Brussels, Cape Town, Leiden, Liege, Leuven, Maastricht, Utrecht and Venice. She has also given training to professionals. She has presented numerous papers at international academic conferences in the Netherlands and abroad, amongst others in: Sarajevo, Nyanza, Bologna, Tubingen, Leeds, London, Warwick, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Edinburgh, Siena, Turin, Rome, Buenos Aires, Stockholm, Cracow, Prague, Brussels, Leuven and Liege.
Alette Smeulers can be hired to lecture, give a workshop or training for professionals, policymakers, fellow academics, students, school children or members of the ordinary public.
